Technology

Our technology choices are especially important, as we mandate the use of “bleeding” edge technologies to provide
excellent performance with the longest life span.

The original MESHsystem was created in a leading technology, Microsoft ASP.NET. There were advantages with this platform since it is a robust system that has matured over time and is used by many HES system developers. Unfortunately, what you gain in robustness, you pay for in efficiency. It has high memory usage and execution time due to a longer code path and other inherent restrictions. This was not acceptable to meet our vision.

While all technologies have some elements that are not perfect, RIA technologies far exceed any issues, so  is the perfect choice for MESHsystems. The leading RIA solution is Adobe Flash used extensively in websites globally.   MESHsystems is built with an Adobe Flash RIA archetecture in it’s newest application, Flex, Flex is Flash for applications and is being used by major corporations such as Volkswagen, Google, Yahoo, Sony Ericsson, Discovery Channel and many others already.

"Flash” is used extensively in delivering Rich Internet Appications (RIA) for websites. The free “Flash Player” from Adobe has achieved market dominance and is installed in 98% of computers in the US and 99.3 percent of all Internet users.
It is a powerful and proven RIA system and has many advantages for designing online systems.

  • Users can use the application from any web browser on any operating system.
  • Installation footprint is small, so updating and distribution is significantly reduced compared with desktop or OS native applications.
  • Updates and upgrades can be automatic and transparent to end users.
  • Users have capabilities of using the system off-line with Adobe AIR.
  • Web applications are far less prone to viral infections.
  • It has a richer user-interface than traditional html.
  • Faster response than standard web browsers that must interact with remote servers.
  • Better balance between client and server which frees server resources to allow server hardware to handle more client sessions concurrently.
  • Asynchronous communication allows interaction with the server without waiting for users to perform an action, such as clicking a button or link.
  • Network efficiency reduces network traffic which speeds up individual requests or responses.

Now what do you do if there is no Internet connection or the one that is available is too slow? We have an answer for that with the Adobe Integrated Runtime AIR application. Our system can run on the desktop with an exact duplication of the MESHsystem module in a very small version that communicates with MESHsystems when there is a good Internet commection.
